The Whit Friday Marching Band contest was now back in the Brass Banding calendar and in June we headed to Saddleworth and Oldham where we managed 7 villages and raised our 2019 ranking. A delightful Tour De Yorkshire culminated in a wonderful concert in Hebden Bridge which we were excited to host jointly with the amazing Uppermill Band. We were honoured also to have the legendary Derek Broadbent in the audience cheering us on.
The band enjoyed a sizzling summer season of Bandstand Concerts. We were pleased to return to Clapham Common in July and to perform at the Regents Park Music Festival in August… A PWBB favourite event. And we were excited to be invited to take part in the Summer in Battersea Park live music festival in June. a delightful venue to which we hope to return next year
In the Autumn we continued our contesting journey. At Wychavon Entertainment Contest we were awarded best soloist [Euphonium], Best Baritone Section and best Entertainment Award.
And in September we played at the Wessex Brass Band Contest and were awarded the top prize for our March against bands in sections 2 3 and 4
